Spring Break, breaks the fishing wide open

[slideshow id=1312]

Although we had the equivalent to 5 trout plants this week, from here on out until the end of May it will be more like one to two a week.  Trout plants are always heavier during April during spring break and most of the trout derbies occur in April as well.  In May we start to see more and more Bass and Catfish catches along with the trout.

Biggest CAT this week-10 lb. 12 oz. by Mark & Leslie

Trollers continue catching trout around 20′ deep and most are using flashers and nightcrawlers.  Shore fishing is best early in the morning and PowerBait leads the pack, however many still use worms and marshmallows.  L.J. & James brought in 9 Rainbows (biggest 3 lbs.) trolling above the channel with flashers and worms.

Nycole Lopez fished with worms by the dam and hooked a 2 lb. 8 oz. trout.  Matthew from Roseville tossed a Roostertail from shore and landed a Bass.  Congrats to Chris Manley for catching his 1st TROUT on a worm!!
