This Thanksgiving was a complete fishing success!!  With multiple trout plants in the past few weeks under our belt the huge fish caught this week was a BLESSING indeed for many fishermen!  Fish & Game brought in a whopping 3,900 pounds of trout.  Instead of breaking the load into two plants they dropped them all at once and that will be the last plant this fall, bringing our Fall 2013 total to 13,500 pounds!    http://download.collinslake.com/Fish_Planting_log_2013.pdf

Planting will resume again in February 2014.

Eric Christiansen hooked the biggest trout and it weighed in at 6 lb. 4 oz.  He and his wife Lynne netted 5 total while trolling on top with a Super Duper or Kastmasters.

Ryan Barella & his buddy Mike Kolko caught some big trout while trolling a variety of lures and grubs.  Young Tyler Brown of Shingle Springs is featured as our “photo of the week” with his 4 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow which he caught from shore on Powerbait near the marina.

The McDonnell family and Anderson family joined forces and slayed the trout!!      The McDonnel kids caught a monster 5 lb. Rainbow and it was their 1st Fish!!   Together they caught 3 limits of trout, from shore, on Powerbait.  Eli Sahota limited out on trout off the beach on rainbow colored Powerbait.

Gery Denzler caught the second biggest trout on Powerbait under the power lines in his boat (5 lb. 4 oz.)  Don Hornyak of Yuba City took home a limit of trout which he caught on worms or Powerbait near the island in his boat.  Elaine caught her 2 lb. 8 oz. trout by the beach on Powerbait.

Jeremy Monks and his crew caught two limits of Rainbow trout by their campsite just using Powerbait from shore. The biggest surprise was his 5 Pounder!  Ted Erkson and wife Debra from Penn Valley caught 7 trout on Powerbait or worms in front of their campsite near the marina and looks like Debra scored BIG with her 4 Pound Rainbow!

Trout were also being caught by the dam by Kristi & Donna of North Highlands and they used Powerbait.  Katie & Jessie caught 3 trout by the dam on Powerbait and the Vang Family hooked 10 trout by the dam on worms.  Madyson & Kylah also hooked a limit of trout on Powerbait by the dam.

Trolling a sling blade and a worm did the job for Kirstin & Daniel Heitkemper of Sutter as they bagged 7 nice Rainbows and took them home for supper.  Big Ed, Little Eddie, and Grandpa each limited on trout by the beach using yellow Powerbait (in a boat) or worms.  Little Eddie said the yellow Powerbait worked best!!

 Bertoni Delong brought in a huge 12 lb. CATFISH and the funny thing is he was trolling a dodger and a worm and certainly wasn’t for catfish!!  He was a little confused as to why his trout was so ugly!!!
