The week started off with lots of  Trout catches and ended with lots of Catfish! Cory Barella of Santa Rosa caught a 5 lb. Rainbow on Powerbait under the power lines. His Dad Ryan caught a 5-1/2 lb. Trout off the dock on a nightcrawler. Gary Coffman of Rohnert Park limited out 2 days in a row. The first day he trolled with worms and the second day he fished in Elmer’s Cove using powerbait in 20′ of water.

Mike Zandonella hooked a 6 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow on a Needlefish while trolling 20′ down. He also caught a 3-1/4 lb. Trout and his friend Tony Pearman of Vallejo topped that one with a 4-1/4 lb. The biggest Trout this week  ( a 7-3/4 lb.) went to Daniel, Austin, Greg & Rick and they caught it by the dam on green powerbait.

Michael & Joey Hobbs and “Peanut” caught & released a 7-1/2 lb. Catfish on the eastside. They also caught a 9-1/4 lb.  and a 10 lb. Cat on pink powerbait. Richard Plise hooked an 8-1/2 lb. Cat trolling a Rapala 20′ down in the middle of the lake. I don’t think these guys were trying for Cats at all, what a surprise that must have been.  Roman Sedillo of Sac landed the biggest Cat this week from the Open Area shoreline on a worm, it weighed in at 11 pounds.

INCREDIBLE KID CATCHES

Nathaniel Hernandez of Marysville caught his 1st Trout ever trolling a worm.  Christina Guerra of Pacifica caught a “WOW FISH” it was a beautiful Rainbow Trout that weighed 4-3/4 lbs. and she hooked it near the main marina on a worm. Her brother Gino & Chappy Chapman caught 4 Trout off the dock on powerbait.  Sean Morris of Pacifica chose a bass jig from his tackle box and hooked a 4-1/4 lb. Rainbow Trout on it.

Little  Timmy of Rio Linda worked so hard at fishing this week and even though his fish were teeny it just goes to show you that hard work pays off. He fished in Elmer’s Cove using worms and caught some Bluegill. Marissa, Dad, & Daisy caught a Trout by the marina and Tyler of Sac. trolled a Kastmaster by the dam and also landed a Trout.

Hunter & Sutter Scott caught a hefty 2-3/4 lb. Rainbow off the boat dock on a worm. Congrats to Colten Patrick of Dobbins who stayed until he caught his limit of Trout and a Bass using nightcrawlers. Hunter Wickum called his Grandpa Dave Callison and begged him to take him fishing on Wednesday. Of course grandpa couldn’t refuse and he’s sure glad he didn’t because they got “into some fish”. They started at 6:30 am and by noon they had hooked a limit of Bass, the biggest weighed 5 lbs. and 4 Cats. The biggest Cat weighed 6-1/4 lbs. and they didn’t sit in any one place too long but they were not fishing very deep. They used live crawdads and by the way we are now selling live crawdads so bring you bucket to the store to purchase them. Crawdads are the main forage food for our Bass and they love them so I would encourage you to try them.
