Collins Lake

Just for you….. Collins Lake is planting trout every week until it gets to hot to plant!    In the last week we have seen alot of trout being caught along with bass, crappie and today someone told me they caught a 2 lb blue gill too. So, you can say fishing is doing great!

 In April we have some open derbies for local fundraisers. April 8th, this Saturday we have a derby that is open to the public, Norcal Cal Trout Angler fundraiser. April 22nd Saturday, CIFFI Derby is open to the public and April 23rd Sunday,MHS safe and sober grad night fundraiser is open to the public. So come on out and support our local fundraisers and have fun fishing! 

On 3/27 Terry Schober of Santa Clara caught trout  by the beach using powerbait.  Brian Nash of Grants Pass Oregon caught a nice 2 1/4 lb trout using needlefish trolling down by the dam.  Ashley Clark of Oroville caught a nice 2 1/4 lb. Bass on synco down by the dam.  Daniel Kunkel of Lodi with Robert Cockrill caught some trout trolling  with brokenback Rapalla.  Marlene Vince of Vacaville caught a nice 4 1/2 lb trout trolling with a ZRay.  Larry Frack of Sparks Nevada caught a 4 lb trout shore fishing with green powerbait.  Jonas Orr of Davis caught a 3 lb. trout using green powerbait down on the beach. 

The Wolf Pack Family was here! They caught a total of 14 trout fishing from the shoreline by the dock using powerbait.  Elaine Breifman struck again! She had a great day caugh 4 nice trout on the beach using orange powerbait.  Joe Powers caught a nice 4 1/2 lb trout using rainbow powerbait bank fishing.

The Olson Family caught 5 nice trout and 1 crappie trolling with worms by the beach.  Ryan Buck of U.C. Irvine caught a 2 1/4 lb trout using spoons by the boat ramp. Chayce Diebler caught a nice 2 1/4 lb bass using Rapalas by the dam trolling.  Joy Beebe of Live Oak caught a 2 1/4 lb trout using green powerbait on the shoreline.  Ed Guillory of Capitola caught a nice 4 1/1 lb trout using white power eggs on the beach.  Dylan and Tyler of Elverta limited out using green powerbait down by the dam.
