Two more weeks until the CIFFI Derby, see our home page for the link to sign up!! Fishing has been steady for some and erratic for others.  We saw several limits in the past few days and some huge trout as well.  This spring is one of the BEST yet as far as beautiful weather, producing huge amounts of large trout, and Trout Planting Programs.  We will continue planting 3 times a week as long as we can (usually around 1st week of May).

Angelo McChristian got his name added to the Biggest Fish of the Week contest for this week with his 7 Pound Rainbow which he caught in front of his campsite on Powerbait.  On April 1st we will draw a winner for the month of March and the winner and their family will WIN a free day on the double deck Patioboat!! The contest for April will then begin, and run through May as well.  Be sure and check with the store on your way out to see if you qualify for the biggest trout, bass, or catfish for that week.

Wendy Clausen caught a 5 lb. 4 oz. trout in front of her campsite on a worm and marshmallow.  Ryan Kurtbride picked his trout up on a Rapala up by the bridge, a 5 pound beauty! Matt Winning of Chico was really “stoked” when he hooked his 6 lb. 12 oz. trout on orange Powerbait in the Open Area.

Trolling nightcrawlers has always worked for my friend George Ackerman, he caught a nice 5 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow at about 20′ down while crossing the lake from the launch ramp.  Travis & Wade Pendley each caught a hefty trout on their trip this week, a 5-1/4 lb. and a 4-1/2 lb. Rainbow trolling with a Kastmaster or a Cleo lure.

The Berger family caught fish while camping here this week, Kayla & Matthew used Powerbait from shore and their biggest one weighed 5-3/4 lbs. Josh & Matt caught 2 limits of trout on Wed, trolling Kastmasters and Rapalas just off from the sand beach. Joe Duran from Yuba City hooked a 6 lb. 4 oz. trout on Powerbait off the beach, then came back three days later and caught a whole limit (5 fish), that limit included a 4 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow. The Duran’s feasted this week for sure!!

The Joseph kids mastered fishing this week all by themselves!! Owen, Wyatt, and Miranda baited their own hook, tossed the line out, waitied patiently for a “hit” and hooked a nice Rainbow Trout. Max, Danny & Chris used Powerbait off the beach and took a nice stringer of fish home, their biggest one was a 5 lb. 7 oz. My buddy Gus Grimmett and his Dad (Rick) camped this week and caught fish everyday. Gus even hooked two huge Redear Sunfish while trolling a Rapala, plus two tagged fish, and a BIG 5 lb. 4 oz. Rainbow!! Not bad for an 8 year old, course he’s been fishing here since he was a year old!!!

The BASS started biting this week!! Two limits of Bass were caught by Mike, Lance, and BJ and the biggest one was a 3-3/4 lb.  Ricardo Gomez holds the title for the biggest Bass this week so far, his weighed in at 4 pounds which he caught from his kayak with a minnow.  Anna & Aron used live worms and caught a Bass and a Trout by their campsite.  Cooper Reasons was trolling near the bridge with a Rapala and was surprised when he brought up a Bass instead of a trout.  Little Nicki Thao of Sac  caught the Biggest Bass last week and got his name put in the drawing for March.
