Kids Rule this week!!

What a nice cooling trend we experienced last week! The 80 degree days brought the Trout back up for a brief period of time and we saw some AWESOME catches right off the dock. The biggest Trout this week was a 6 lb. 12 oz. Rainbow that Doug Johnston took right from the rental dock using chartreuse power nuggets.  Carmen Salazar of Yuba City returned this week only to capture 3 more gorgeous Rainbow Trout from her Lucky Fishing Hole from shore.  Carmen caught them on green powerbait ( 4-1/4 lb. 3 lb. & 3-3/4 lb.) in 15′ of water. Dave & Mark Zaski from Tahoe fished from the dock using white powerbait and hooked a 6 lb. Rainbow and a 3 pounder as well.

The Hobbs brothers returned this week and hooked another 7 lb. Catfish and Cameron Silvas of Antelope bested that with his 7 lb. 4 oz. Cat which he caught on crawdads by the bridge. Keith Martin of  Thousand Oaks trolled a Needlefish lure near the beach in 20 feet of water and caught a 5 lb. 8 oz. Rainbow Trout. Grandma Pam Hanrihan brought her grandkids fishing and they caught lots and lots of Trout mostly with Powerbait in Elmer’s Cove.

John English of Yuba City was fishing with a worm on a bobber and caught a 4 lb. 4 oz. Catfish just this side of the bridge. Rudell Harden of Oroville wrapped up this week with a 5 lb. 13 oz. Bass which he caught on a live minnow from the dock.

Kid Catches Rule this Week!!!

Top of the Kid’s Catches this week goes to Cameron Silvas with his 7 lb. 4 oz. Cat and to Kayla Priske of  Thousand Oaks with her 5 lb. Rainbow she caught trolling a Needlefish. Hannah Herrera of Dixon also landed a beauty-her Trout was taken from the dock on a worm & powerbait combination and it weighed in at 3 lb. 8 oz.

Graydon Radford of Orangevale caught his 1st Trout ever while fishing from the dock on orange powerbait. Yippee!!!!!!!!      Michael & Matthew Mulcahg paired up using powerbait & caught Trout from the dock. Tommy Lockwood & George Johnson teamed up to catch Trout off the dock and little sister Julie took a stringer of Crappie & Blugill as well.  Christen Battani, Ciara Prior & Caleb Hanrihan of Fair Oaks had just as much luck from the dock as they did fishing in the coves for Trout. One day they limited out and the next day they caught 4 more Trout using worms or powerbait off the dock.  Two young boys (Andrew Forsyth & Jacob Allred of Rocklin) met each other while camping here and formed a “fishing friendship” and they did really good fishing with salmon eggs & worms off the dock. Their biggest one was a 2 lb. Rainbow!! Kaedyn Lauers of Fair Oaks found a shady spot on the east side and caught 2 Trout in a cove on chartreuse powerbait.

Pictures are worth 1,000 words and these kids tell the whole story with their bright smiles!! Fishing is a great sport to teach kids and they will spend hours perfecting the sport and before long, they will teach us a thing or two!
